Two Farewell Party Ideas

Farewell party ideas become necessary when someone important to you is about to leave for good.  This could be a colleague at work leaving for a new job, a friend or relative moving away or anything else that will change the dynamic of a long-standing relationship.  People love to throw farewell parties in order to celebrate the past and the future at the same time.  Generally speaking, there are two ways to approach a farewell party.

The first way to approach the party is to throw the party to end all parties.  This means that you invite lots of people, plan big things and generally go all out in order to bring as many different people into the fold as possible.  This party approach is great for a person that is very extroverted and therefore meets many people and makes many friends.  If you need to invite a lot of people in order to cover their entire friends list, you should definitely consider creating a party that has this type of theme to it.

The second approach is the more subdued and laid back approach.  In this party, you invite a smaller number of people and have something a bit more down to earth.  This is a fantastic idea for the type of person that makes few friends, but generally establishes stronger bonds with them because they focus their friendships on fewer people.  This type of person actually might not like the over the top idea and therefore you would do a lot more for them if you created this type of party instead.

When evaluating the two farewell party ideas discussed above, the main thing to realize is that it is really the person that influences the direction that you take.  Many times you can make a party that is for the guests rather than the person.  For a farewell party however, this needs to be the other way around.  The party is for the person that is leaving and that is why you should create a party that fits their personality perfectly whatever that personality may be.
